In a speech to parliament he reiterated that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has accepted a proposal to create a commission to examine Bangladesh’s coal shortage, and announced plans to introduce a power tariff to address the shortage.
“I will provide a proposal for such commission within a few days to parliament and also to Sheikh Hasina who is the Prime Minister,” he said.
“The commission would look into problems of coal mining, and if there is need I would support a proposal for a tariff or commission to be formed for the purpose.”
